Expectations for 2025

.

For 2025, we expect the number of locations to increase further to more than 700, while the number of jobs is expected to reach the 2,800 mark. Based on current growth rates, we expect the Netherlands to reach the milestone of 700 locations by the third quarter of 2025. This highlights the continued popularity and rapid expansion of the sport across the country.

New trends in padel

A notable trend is that not only are tennis clubs expanding their complexes with padel courts, but other sports associations such as soccer and field hockey clubs are also showing increasing interest in padel. These clubs see padel as a perfect addition to their existing sports offerings, not only offering their members an additional sporting option, but also attracting new target groups. This underlines how broad the appeal of padel is and how it is becoming increasingly integrated into the Dutch sporting landscape.

In addition, we see that new locations are increasingly starting with multiple courts. Where previously locations with 2 or 3 courts were the norm, we now more often see new facilities starting with 5 or more courts. This increase in scale immediately provides more capacity to meet increasing demand and reinforces confidence in the continued popularity of padel.

Focus on quality

This growth is further driven by new investments in commercialële padel venues and the emergence of new clubs. We also see the sport becoming more accessible to a wider audience, with more opportunities for beginnersén advanced players.

This year the focus is not only on quantity, but also on quality. More and more locations are investing in high-quality courts, training facilities and events to take the padel experience to the next level. Additionally, innovations in sustainability and technology are playing a role in building new venues and courts.

2025 promises to be an exciting year for everyone involved in padel. Whether you are a player, entrepreneur or spectator, we hope this year will bring as much growth and success as previous years.
